WHO'S WHO
Island Verse Story Lab founder Gary Rainford is a poet, author of Salty Liquor (2014) & Liner Notes (2017) Editor-in-Chief of The Island Reader, an annual anthology of artists and writers who live on Maine's unbridged islands, and an adjunct Professor of English at Monroe Community College who loves words, punctuation, and stories. Gary has typeset and published books for eight years and has taught for over 25 years. Island Verse is the marriage of his personal and professional passions.
Island Verse Editions editor Ann Marie Maguire is a photographer and writer living year round on Swan's Island. She has published several photo booklets on island images, and her photos have appeared in Island Journal, Working Waterfront, Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors, Women and Cruising and as the cover for Gary Rainford's Salty Liquor. Ann Marie is currently working on the biography of Helen Nicolay, daughter of Abraham Lincoln's secretary during the Civil War.
